Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is among the most visited cities on the continent.

On February 14,1945  Prague was bombed by U.S. Forces, 152 tons of bombs were  dropped. All the causalities were civilians, no factories were damaged. Later on the U.S voiced their regrets, explaining it was a mistake, the real target was Dresden 80 miles to the north.

Church of Our Lady in front of Týn is a dominant feature  of  the  old  town  district of  Prague. Construction began in the 14th century with the roof being completed in  the 1450s.

 Malá Strana, "The Lesser Town of Prague", is one of Prague's  oldest and historical  boroughs. St Nicholaus Church can be seen in the background.

 

Trams cover a large area of the city and are used by some 300 million people a year.  Night trams run from 00:30 a.m. till 4:30 a.m. in 40 minute intervals.

Rumor has it the museum will soon add an exhibit dedicated entirely to U.S methods of torture.

Trams 22 and 23 follow one of Prague's most scenic routes, passing by the National Theater to Staroměstská and Malostranská metro stations, and continuing up to the Belveder, Prague Castle and Pohořelec, with some stunning views on the way.

 

Charles Bridge is a famous historical bridge that crosses the Vltava in Prague.Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV and finished in the beginning of  the 15th century.

 

Saint Virus’s Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Founded in 1344 and located within Prague Castle it contains the tombs of many Bohemian Kings. St Vitrus is an excellent example of Gothic Architecture and is the biggest and most important church in the country.

Cesky Krumlov

 

 Cesky Krumlov, a three hour train ride out of Prague and a visit there is like stepping back in time. Situated on the banks of the Vltava river, the town was built around a 13th-century castle.  NO night life whatsoever !!
